Day 364: Rain

Rain, rain, and more rain.  I'm glad to be on my way to the sunny Midwest!

Day 350: Earthquake!

I had a hectic day today...conference call at 11, lunch meeting at noon, and picking my parents up from the airport by 2:30.  I had a quick 15 minutes between lunch and leaving for the airport, so I went home for a bit.  I was sitting in my kitchen when things started rumbling.  It started out as soft rumbling, then louder and stronger, and then the house was shaking enough that I was scared things were going to start caving in on me!  So I ran outside and watched and waited.  Things slowed down quickly enough, but it was seriously frightening.  Little did I know I'd just experienced an earthquake. Since I've never felt one before, I thought it was an explosion of some sort. My coworker in New Haven texted me to see if I was okay, and he told me they'd even felt it up there.

The photo above is of the employees at major office building that had been evacuated due to the quake. Scary!

Day 155: Icy

The snow has now turned a lovely shade of dirt and everything is still icy.

Day 153: Not good

They weren't kidding when they said we were getting an ice storm.  You can see my feeble attempts to scrape off the ice in the left-hand corner.  I quickly gave up, though.

Day 140: Freezing rain

It was a very treacherous drive to and from work today.  I'm glad I made it!  And even more glad I have a car with four-wheel drive.

Day 133: Warning

Hmm, so I guess they're serious about the chance of us having a big storm!  Day care may be closed.

Day 115: I'm dreaming of...

Well, we definitely got our white Christmas! The snow just keeps falling and doesn't seem to want to stop.

Day 25: Sun hat

S and I had been searching all summer for a sun hat for baby A.  My mother was sure she'd given him one at my baby shower, but I didn't think so and so we just looked and looked but found nothing.  Well, I was cleaning out his dresser drawers and what did I find...his sun hat that Grandma gave him!  So luckily the weather was quite nice and he got some use out of it at Toddler Tunes today.
