Day 296: Iravati

We are staying at our friends' place while we are in between here and DC.  This painting is a new addition to their house since the last time we were over.  It's their daughter Iravati.

Day 292: Goodbyes have begun

We have lovely neighbors all around us here on Linden Street, and one of them was going off to visit her grandparents for a few weeks, so she came by to say goodbye to baby A.  We are going to miss our friends!

Day 291: Laundromat

We used the laundromat when we first moved to New Haven because we had a lot of clothes to wash and didn't want to wait to do each load individually. You had to get a card to put money on to use for the machines.  Well, I ended up finding the card while we were cleaning up and went to the laundromat to wash our comforters.

Day 279: Baby loves salsa

We took baby to a concert as part of the International Arts and Ideas Festival here in New Haven.  It was called Baby Loves Salsa, and it was basically a childen's show with salsa music.  Anand woke up right as the concert started.  He seemed a little bemused about it all, but it was fun.

Day 241: Turkeys!

Hello, what are you doing there?  We took a drive after getting A from day care, and we came across these two.  Turkeys have been spotted around our area recently; one woman from a neighboring town was in a serious car accident while trying to avoid a turkey on the freeway.

Day 219: The bus

I feel like a local.  Baby and I took the bus today to and from the drug store to get baby's medicine. Total cost: $2.50.

Day 57: And even more foliage

This was just taken from the car on the way to work, but you can see how lovely the colors are even in this bad shot.  I really need to take a walk on a sunny day and get some photos before the leaves fall.

Day 53: Foliage

It's a grey and windy day today, but even so, there is still some amazing color out there.  I'm always surprised at the nice foliage we get just in our neighborhood.

Day 48: Out for breakfast

We took baby out for breakfast with us.  He slept most of the time but then finally woke up as we were nearly done.  He was in a happy mood!

Day 40: For my UK friends

Can you  believe it?  We even have Irn Bru here in New Haven!  My sister bought this for me when she was here over the summer (it was the only thing she could find that was caffeine free and not diet) without knowing what it was.  I was astounded to find out she'd bought the New Haven equivalent of Irn Bru!

Day 29: President Clinton comes to town

Former President Bill Clinton was in town to support our Democratic nominee for senator, Dick Blumenthal.  S and I didn't get tickets but figured we'd just walk by and see if we could see the motorcade.  But we were able to get in and watched the whole thing!

Day 27: Baby goes to Pepe's

We have a visitor in town from Chicago, so we took him and baby to Frank Pepe for some yummy New Haven pizza.

Day 3: Ice cream

Another day, another chance to have ice cream.  Tonight it was Ashley's.  As the drawing says so appropriately...Ashley's Ice Cream: It is good.

Day 1: Shakespeare in the park

We started off the new year of 365 right by taking Anand to his first Shakespeare play!  The Elm Shakespeare Company performed The Winter's Tale in Edgerton Park.  It was very well done, I thought.
