We took baby to a concert as part of the International Arts and Ideas Festival here in New Haven. It was called Baby Loves Salsa, and it was basically a childen's show with salsa music. Anand woke up right as the concert started. He seemed a little bemused about it all, but it was fun.
We went to our friends' home for a baithak, or house concert. There was a classical Hindustani vocalist that sang and two musicians played the tabla and the ghatam. The ghatam was quite fascinating as it is, in essence, a specially-made clay pot played as an instrument. Baby A particularly liked the ghatam.
